WebMar 5, 2008 · That clicking is the starter solenoid trying to kick over juice to the starter to make it start turning the engine over. I agree with the above posts that suggest dead/weak battery. That's a good starting point and it's usually free. If you jump the battery and the car still won't start, at that point I'd be checking out my starter if I were you.
