As a beginner it's good to learn how to properly brace your core without a belt first so when you have a belt you can use it effectively. You should get your weight up and your deadlift max up a bit more before using one. WebIn virtually all normal training sessions, you should never have a belt on. You are effectively de-training your back and abs and setting yourself up for weeks of pain and misery if you abuse this device. It is for maxing out or >90% only. edit: it feels easier because you're using strap-on muscle for your core.
