Web25. okt 2010 · One of the theories concerning Book of Mormon authorship is that somehow Sidney Rigdon, Parley P. Pratt, and Oliver Cowdery somehow colluded to write the Book of Mormon based upon a non-extant document authored by one Solomon Spalding. WebTherefore, he could not have been involved. However, the Spalding/Rigdon theory connects Joseph, Rigdon and Spalding pre-1830. This theory argues that Sidney was the mastermind and used Joseph Smith (you know, the whole uneducated farm boy angle) as a pawn in his plot to create a new religion using additional scripture.
